About me:

Hi! I'm Gabi, I'm 14 years old and I live in Northern California with my parents, brother, and sister.

I grew up surrounded by food lovers- my mom, the resident chef in our house (until I took over, that is,) my dad, who loves nearly every type of food, and of course my brother and sister, the taste-testers of the kitchen. I have always loved helping my mom in the kitchen, but it wasn't until this year that I really began to love cooking and baking. It became not only my hobby, but my passion. (dawww, cheesy)

It also wasn't until this year that I began really thinking about what ingredients I used to make my food: where it came from, what was really in it, how it affected my body and myself as a whole. My love of food turned soon turned into a love of healthy food that not only tasted good, but also made me feel good and was sustainable for the world. I try to always take into account where the food I am eating came from, how it got to me, and what was put inside of it.

You might be thinking that I'm one of those super healthy people. But hold on! That doesn't mean I never have a cookie, a bowl of pasta, a plate of french fries. Hello, why shouldn't I? That stuff is delicious! But the way it makes my body feel is not the greatest, and I prefer to feed myself food that my body benefits from. My body does so much for me, and I want to take care of it in return. I'm not gluten free or vegan or paleo, because I personally don't like limiting myself like that. I eat a natural, seasonal, nutritious, limitedly processed, balanced diet.

This blog will be filled with all different kinds of recipes. Most will be vegetarian, healthy, and easy to make. It will show my natural and flexible approach to a healthy lifestyle and a healthier, happier you.
